Why do I write?
From the beginning, I imagined that I could use my simple stories to get across more complex ideas. I believe the best things in life are the simplest, but that the simplest things can be the most complex. Got that?
For example: In Circle Of Friends, I have greatly expanded the concept introduced in the chapter ‘Misunderstandings,’ from ‘Tales From Within The Rabbitry.’ In Circle Of Friends, World Peace can only be brought about if Boar-acc first recognizes that true power comes from doing good deeds, and many characters undergo a transformation when they simply see the light!
How do I write?
Initially, I envisioned that these rabbit “Tales” could help remind readers to be more understanding and more tolerant, and if that’s possible, its also possible that rabbits could be responsible for bringing about World Peace.
As I began to write the stories based on my vision, some ideas I came up with where good, and some had to be modified or changed along the way. The further along the stories got, it was quite clear what should be happening next. First it was necessary for the characters to get into trouble, and once they were in trouble it was quite exciting to see how they could get themselves out. The characters became real to me and took on a life of their own. It seems that Snowflake is right, the more one practices, the better one gets!
Where do these ideas come from?
I get some of my ideas just from looking at scenery or pictures and waiting for ideas to pop into my head. If I get no ideas, I try to tickle my imagination by providing the ambiance needed for the scene.
Some of my ideas, I’m told, are crazy, but I’m not afraid to try them out and chance that I might be laughed at. One reason being that I have the most fun with my craziest ideas. (Please see pictures below, they didn’t work out, but I had a lot of fun.)
The other reason being, I know the greatest innovations come from what may first appear to be the craziest ideas. (People once scoffed at the world being round.)
So what I think is, bring on the laughter! The more people laugh at my Bilbo, the more it encourages me to write! Thank you very much!!
